If you’ve been googling Cancun all inclusive wedding resorts it probably didn’t take you long to realize there are A LOT of options. And while looking at all of the gorgeous beach photos is fun, choosing the right resort for your wedding day can quickly become overwhelming.
As a destination wedding travel agent, I personally visit 30-50 resorts every year so I can give my clients firsthand insight into what these properties are like. I want to know exactly how the beaches look, how the food tasted, what the wedding space looks like and whether the resort will be a good fit for you.
As a trusted Travel Agent, I help clients plan weddings across several resorts in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas, including Live Aqua Cancun, Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Dreams and Secrets Play Mujeres, and Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun. And while I have my favorites, the best option for you may not be the same for another couple.
You’ll need to take into consideration your guest list, whether it’s adult only or not, your overall vision and the experiences you want for your guests. So with that… let’s break down some of the best all inclusive wedding resorts in Cancun and the surrounding Riviera Maya area.

Choose Between Adults-Only or Family-Friendly
Before you start comparing Cancun all inclusive resorts with wedding packages, this is one of the first questions you should ask yourself when planning a destination wedding in Mexico.
Do you want a child-free celebration where everyone can spend the week enjoying cocktails and celebrating with you? Or are you inviting children, nieces and nephews, or maybe families with littles? Deciding whether you need an adults-only or a family-friendly resort can immediately narrow down your options.
Best Adults-Only Cancun All Inclusive Wedding Resorts
Unico 20°87°
Unico 20°87° is one of my most popular resorts and for good reason. While just outside of Cancun in Riviera Maya, this adults-only resort puts a big emphasis on luxury while still connecting it’s guests to the culture of the region. If you want a wedding experience that’s elevated and extremely romantic, this is one I would highly consider.
Live Aqua Cancun
If you’re looking into an adults-only resort in Cancun, Live Aqua Cancun is one of my go-tos. It’s an adult-only, all inclusive resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, with a focus on food, relaxation and an elevated vibe. The resort offers multiple dining options, a spa, 24-hour room service and beachfront accommodations.
Live Aqua offers wedding packages and an on-site wedding team, making this a great option for your wedding.
Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort
If you’re open to being just outside Cancun, Secrets Playa Mujeres is another great option. This is an adults-only all inclusive resort in the gated Playa Mujeres community, and is about 35 minutes north of Cancun International Airport. It features suites, multiple restaurant options, a spa and access to the neighboring community, Dreams Playa Mujeres.
When it comes to weddings, Secrets Playa Mujeres offers everything from complimentary wedding options to more elaborate customizable packages. Its on-site wedding coordinator helps customize the package and coordinate all of your wedding details.
Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun
If the beach is your big draw for your destination wedding, Secrets Maroma may quickly become top of your list.
Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun is an adults-only, all inclusive resort along Maroma beach on the Riviera Maya. The resort features large beachfront access, suites, and a spa. This is a resort where you can’t base your decision based on the wedding package alone. You really need to take into consideration the overall experience your guests will have.
Best Family-Friendly Cancun All Inclusive Wedding Resorts
Hyatt Ziva Cancun
If you’re inviting families to your wedding and want to stay in Cancun, Hyatt Ziva Cancun is one of the first resorts I typically mention.
Hyatt Ziva Cancun is an all inclusive, family-friendly beachfront resort located on Punta Cancun. It features multiple restaurant options, pools, activities, a spa and accommodations that are designed for families.
Here’s what really makes it shine for weddings:
Hyatt Ziva has several wedding venue options, including beach front spaces and the Cliff Gazebo overlooking the sea. Its largest event space can accommodate up to 500 guests, while the Cliff Gazebo can accommodate up to 200. The resort offers customizable wedding packages and an on-site wedding team for your convenience.
Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort
Dreams Playa Mujeres is technically in Playa Mujeres, not in Cancun, but it still deserves a spot on the list for Cancun, Mexico all inclusive resorts for weddings.
It’s a family-friendly all inclusive resort located in a gated community just north of Cancun. With more than 500 rooms and suites, pools, a waterpark, a lazy river, a spa, and a variety of restaurant and entertainment options, it’s hard to beat.
One of the best things about this Cancun all inclusive wedding resort is that adults staying at Dreams Play Mujeres can also access many of the restaurants, bars, and facilities at neighboring Secrets Playa Mujeres. Keep in mind, there are some restrictions around certain Preferred Club areas.
More Cancun All Inclusive Wedding Resorts In Surrounding Areas
Some of my favorite wedding resorts aren’t actually in Cancun. For example, Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya is just outside Cancun. The property features a family-friendly side along with Heaven, its adult-only section with its own separate amenities and dining option.
Secrets Moxche Playa Del Carmen is another adults-only option in the Riviera Maya. It’s a AAA Five Diamond resort with 485 suites, more than a dozen restaurants and bars, and the Unlimited-Luxury all inclusive experience.
And then there’s Secrets Akumal, located in Riviera Maya. The resort has facilities for weddings and offers a more intimate setting along pristine, white sand beaches.
So… If you’re open to planning your destination wedding in the Riviera Maya, don’t limit your options to just Cancun all inclusive wedding resorts. There are some incredible options if you’re willing to expand your radar just a few miles surrounding Cancun.

How to Choose a Cancun All Inclusive Wedding Resort
Please don’t pick your Cancun All inclusive wedding resort based on the wedding packages alone. Your wedding might last a few hours or an entire day at the most. Your resort stay lasts for several days.
Think about what your guests are going to be doing when they aren’t celebrating with you. Do they have children? Do they want more of a nightlife? How much of a priority is food? How important is the beach? Do you want adults-only? Do you want a large resort with plenty of entertainment and activities or something more intimate?
Next, I encourage you to think about the logistics. How far is the resort from the airport? What are the wedding package inclusions? Are there minimum room requirements? Are outside vendors allowed? Can you bring your own photographer?
These are the details that help you decide which resort will be the best option for you. And this is exactly why working with a destination wedding travel agent can be so helpful. I’ve personally visited all of these properties and I can help you narrow down your choices based on your priorities.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cancun All Inclusive Wedding Resorts
There isn’t one best resort for every couple. Some of the properties I frequently recommend include Live Aqua Cancun for adults-only weddings, Hyatt Ziva Cancun for family-friendly celebrations, and Secrets Playa Mujeres for adults-only weddings just north of Cancun.
Yes. Hyatt Ziva Cancun and Dreams Playa Mujeres are two family-friendly options that offer wedding celebrations and on-site wedding support.
Many popular destination wedding resorts in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas are all-inclusive, but the exact inclusions vary by property. Services such as spa treatments, airport transportation, excursions and certain specialty experiences may cost extra, so it’s important to review the specific resort’s inclusions before booking.
Playa Mujeres is a separate area north of Cancun, but it is close enough to Cancun International Airport that it is commonly considered when couples research the Cancun wedding market. Dreams Playa Mujeres, for example, is about a short drive from Cancun International Airport.
Not necessarily. Your resort will be your home for several days, so you should consider the overall guest experience, accommodations, food, beach, activities, location and wedding policies—not just the package price. This is one of the biggest reasons I recommend working with a destination wedding planner travel agent who can help you compare the full experience.
